Survival training in the UK - organised by the School aim to be innovative. The first objective is to create a wider understanding of nature and to provide essential knowledge and skills to sustain and save life. The second objective is to have fun learning these skills.
Navigation and expedition is undertaken in a mountain forest location - base camp (tents) Friday night and shelters in the forest Saturday night (Basic & Advanced) - in our facility centre (indoors) Sunday night to dry out and prepare for phases 2 and 3 - mountain shelters Monday night - forest shelters Tuesday and Wednesday night (Advanced).

The body and mind have a unique ability to cope with challenging and arduous conditions and it is to this end that the school has developed structured courses to provide not only the knowledge and skills to overcome such conditions, but also to give confidence to those people for whom the world of adventure is yet to be discovered. There are infinite opportunities and exciting experiences to be found in the world's remote regions, from the mountains to the deserts and the jungles to the Poles - the School can provide the key to open that door.

This course gives you the opportunity to put your basic mountain skills to the test in one of Britain's most scenic and demanding locations. You will undertake navigation and search & rescue exercises in addition to advanced movement on mountains, including climbing and abseiling the "In-Pinn".

Courses run annually in the Isle of Skye and are open to anyone over 18 years of age. All skills covered will have to be applied throughout the exercise.

This course is a natural progression from the Basic Mountain Course although we do accept candidates with basic experience.

The instructors come from a variety of backgrounds, including the British Armed Forces. They are experienced leaders and have spent extended periods of time in extreme climates and remote regions throughout the world.

Available dates can be found on our Costs & Dates page, or to reserve a place please complete the Booking Form on our Contact page. A detailed Itinerary, directions and Insurance Certificate will be issued on full payment of the course fee.
