Survival skills uk - courses organised by the School aim to be innovative. The first objective is to create a wider understanding of nature and to provide essential knowledge to sustain and save life. The second objective is to have fun learning.

The body and mind have a unique ability to cope with challenging and arduous conditions and it is to this end that the school has developed training to provide not only the knowledge to overcome such conditions, but also to give confidence to those people for whom the world of adventure is yet to be discovered. There are infinite opportunities and exciting experiences to be found in the world's remote regions, from the mountains to the deserts and the jungles to the Poles - the UK School can provide the key to open that door.

The instructors come from a variety of backgrounds, including the British Armed Forces. They are experienced leaders and have spent extended periods of time in extreme climates and remote regions throughout the world.

This training gives you the opportunity to test yourself in one of Britain's most scenic and demanding locations. You will undertake set mountain, navigation and search & rescue exercises in addition to advanced movement on mountains, including climbing and abseiling the "In-Pinn". Although this is a "down to earth hands-on" course, it is well within the capabilities of individuals with a general standard of fitness - the mental aptitude will come later!

At no time are delegates left to fend for themselves in dangerous or unpleasant conditions. The course instructor will be nearby at all times in case of emergency, and will closely monitor the progress of the group - no participants will be asked to perform tasks which will cause them fear or distress.

Training run annually in the Isle of Skye and are open to anyone over 18 years of age.
This is a natural progression from the Basic Mountain training although we do accept candidates with basic experience. We have vouchers available for any occasion – Birthdays, Christmas, Anniversaries – anything really – the Voucher is printed on card, with an itinerary for your chosen course stapled inside.

Available dates can be found on our Costs & Dates page, or to reserve a place please complete the Booking Form on our Contact page. A detailed Itinerary, directions and Insurance Certificate will be issued on full payment of the skills fee.
