Ged is a qualified mountain leader and expedition medic with immense experience at international level leading courses and expeditions in the UK, Australia, Africa, Arctic, Middle East and South East Asia, living and working with many of the regions indigenous peoples including the Pitjanjara, Himba, Iban, Kadazan, Dayak, San Bushmen, Murut, Bedu and Sami. Ged was made a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society in 2005.

Ed has extensive expedition and remote travel experience including Central and South America, Europe, India and Nepal, to leading survival training expeditions in the Arctic Circle and the jungles of South East Asia, Ed was also a team member with Raleigh International in Belize. Most recently he was camel trekking in the Sahara, mountaineering in the Alps and sea kayaking in Alaska. Ed also participates in triathlons
