How
to prepare for your Course
and what you need to bring with you
• Waterproofs
• Hat & Gloves
Full finger gloves to keep your hands warm, also a set of hard wearing
gardening
gloves for building shelters in the forest and cooking on open fires
• Boots
Sturdy comfortable walking boots with ankle support
• Sleeping bag and insulation mat
A minimum 3 season bag is recommended
• Drinking water bottles
2 x 1 litre bottles filled with drinking water and ready to use - wide
rim bottles are best
• Spoon, bowl and mug
Unbreakable plastic or metal
• Cooking tins and something to clean them with
A set of camping mess tins and brillo pads are
ideal
• Head torch and 1 x spare batteries
To keep both hands free in the dark
• Personal hygiene kit
Include a nail brush to clean your hands thoroughly after preparing
rabbit and fish, toilet paper and towel
• Pocket notebook, pencil with eraser and a pencil sharpener
Not pen as you will need to remove markings from maps
• Personal medications and First aid kit,
Ie, Ventolin if you are asthmatic, plasters, wipes, mosquito repellent,
UV protection etc
• Clothing
Fast drying cottons are ideal, not jeans and a spare set
• A rucksack big enough to pack all your kit in
Pack your kit inside your rucksack in weatherproof/plastic bags
• A watch
So you don't miss the start of lessons and activities

All other
items required on the course are provided by the School.
Note:

Mobiles phones
Be discreet and leave them turned off during lessons and course activities
• Video cameras and photography
Video Cameras are not permitted on any course
Photography is allowed providing permission has been granted by the
person being photographed, including course leaders

Cutting tools
In accordance with UK Law and The UK Survival School Health and Safety
policy - appropriate cutting tools and instruction of use will be provided
by the School as and when required - do not bring cutting tools of any
description including Leathermans, Utility tools, Swiss Army style,
saws, folding knives, axes, machetes, etc
•
Alcohol or illegal drugs are not allowed on any of our courses or training
sites
